Weingut Allram Riesling | Kamptal
Dry, fresh white wine from the Kamptal valley in Austria. This Riesling is full of fruit, with aromas of peach, pineapple and orange. Its fresh character comes from the mineral-rich soil of the Gaisberg. The minerality of the soil and the freshness of the Riesling grape give this white wine from Allram a fresh and long finish.
About the winery: Michaela Allram took over her parents' winery with her husband Erich in 1992. Their 14 hectares are located in the Strassertal valley, spread over several 'Lagen'. Erich is a man of the vineyard and looks for the best place for each grape. For the Riesling it is the Gaisberg. Weingut Allram has 14 hectares of vineyards in the Strassertal in Kamptal. The vineyards are spread over different 'layers', each with its own specific characteristics. The Riesling is planted on the southern slope of Gaisberg. This is the most south-eastern spur of the Manharts mountain where a special microclimate prevails. The variation in temperature is due to the horizontal position of the vineyard. The differences in climate on a slope lead to variation in the development of the grapes and Michaela and Erich benefit from this when making this delicate Riesling.
